Editorial
Hello and welcome to the June 2004 issue of ICTAC News. Each ICTAC Congress brings its fair share of 'hellos' and 'goodbyes' as the battle worn step aside to be replaced by the raw enthusaism of teh new recruits. On a personal level, I would like to thank two long time servants of ICTAC, Harry McAdie and Pat Gallagher, for their assitance in helping me do my job as Editor of ICTAC News. I am sure the publication of ICTAC News would not have been as smooth as it has been, if it wasn't for the help of these gentleman. Pat in particular is to be commened for the professional manner in which he dealt with my constant requests for funds ! It is great to hear they will be helping out in this transition period and I look forward to building similarly strong relationships with their successors.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Trevor Lever for his help as ICTAC News Advertising Manager for the past couple of years. Trevor stepped down as Advertising Manager over the summer due to other committments but has helped establish a strong advertising base for our publication. Fred Wilburn rejoins the Editorial team as Trevor's replacement. For those of you are not aware, Fred held this position for many years in the not too distant past. I am not sure what lured him out of 'retirement' but we are very glad he has joined the team!
This issue of ICTAC News celebrates the 30th Anniversary of GEFTA and we would like to congratulate our German colleagues and friends on this marvellous achievement. Good luck for the next 30 years!
I would also like to bring your attention to the article about the legacy of Robert Mackenzie. It is only with the dedication of people like Graham Clark that collections such as the one highlighted in this article are made available to the wider scientific community. Great work Graham ... and congratulations!
